EAACI gathers global experts to share the latest research in allergy and clinical immunology.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-sm-10 col-sm-offset-1\">\n<p>The <span class=\"xn-person\">Amber Tringale<\/span> Memorial Award honors the legacy of <span class=\"xn-person\">Amber Tringale<\/span>, who tragically lost her life to asthma at 48. Amber lived with moderate asthma and passed away unexpectedly due to a severe asthma attack in 2018, leaving behind her husband and five children. The award focuses on education and prevention of acute asthma exacerbations and emergency room visits.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Nyenhuis&#8217;s study aims to assess the perceptions and awareness of extreme weather and air quality on asthma in a representative urban population using a mixed methods approach. Climate change is affecting local environments with increased pollution, extreme temperatures, severe weather, and prolonged pollen seasons. Understanding patient perceptions of these impacts is crucial to behavioral change efforts to mitigate the effects of climate change on asthma.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Asthma is a climate vulnerable disease and we need to understand the impact it has on our patients, in particular marginalized groups that are most impacted by climate change&#8221;, said Dr. Nyenhuis.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The  <strong>Asthma &#038; Allergy Friendly\u00ae<\/strong> Certification Program is a collaborative initiative between <a href=\"https:\/\/c212.net\/c\/link\/?t=0&amp;l=en&amp;o=4183977-1&amp;h=2959342983&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.allergystandards.com%2F&amp;a=Allergy+Standards+Limited+(ASL)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Allergy Standards Limited (ASL)<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/c212.net\/c\/link\/?t=0&amp;l=en&amp;o=4183977-1&amp;h=3562351515&amp;u=https%3A%2F%2Faafa.org%2F&amp;a=Asthma+and+Allergy+Foundation+of+America+(AAFA)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA)<\/a> that helps consumers identify products more suitable for people with asthma and allergies. Products undergo rigorous independent testing to meet scientific standards established by the program.
