For a washing machine to be CERTIFIED asthma & allergy friendly®, it must meet the following standards:

- Work without exposing you to volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
For a dryer to be CERTIFIED asthma & allergy friendly®, it must meet
the following standards:
- Reduce allergens and irritants from washable items.
- Reach washing temperatures above 130°F.
- Kill dust mites.
- Keep humidity levels low during a tumble dry.
- Obtain low moisture levels after a tumble dry.
- Work without exposing you to VOCs.
Steam-Based Clothing Care must be able to reduce house dust mite, bacteria and fungi and not worsen a home’s indoor air quality.
For a steam-based clothing care system to be CERTIFIED asthma & allergy friendly®, it must meet the following standards:
– Relative humidity in the surrounding environment & clothing moisture levels must remain below certain levels
– Must be able to kill house dust mites
– Must not promote the growth of bacteria or fungi (mold)
– Must not disperse bacteria and fungi (mold) from contaminated water sources
