Steam-Based Clothing Care must be able to reduce house dust mite, bacteria and fungi and not worsen a home’s indoor air quality.
For a steam-based clothing care system to be CERTIFIED asthma & allergy friendly® , it must meet the following standards:
– Relative humidity in the surrounding environment & clothing moisture levels must remain below certain levels
– Must be able to kill house dust mites
– Must not promote the growth of bacteria or fungi (mold)
– Must not disperse bacteria and fungi (mold) from contaminated water sources
