This fall, the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), in partnership with the Breathe EASY home visiting program and IMPACT DC Asthma Clinic of Children’s National Hospital, donated asthma & allergy friendly® CERTIFIED air cleaners, vacuums, paint, cleaning products, dusting cloths, air filters and bedding to families of children with asthma. IMPACT DC connects families with the Breathe EASY program to help them address asthma triggers in the home. AAFA helped 50 families improve their indoor air quality and reduce asthma triggers by supplying these CERTIFIED products.

Last year, the Certification Program launched the successful Healthier Homes Initiative in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in collaboration with the Community Asthma Prevention Program (CAPP) at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to raise awareness about the impact of asthma and the value of controlling the indoor environment. This year, the program turned its focus to helping families in underserved communities in Washington, D.C.

“It was wonderful to meet some of the families that received the asthma & allergy friendly® CERTIFIED products and to know these products are helping make their homes healthier,” said Michele Cassalia, Director of Marketing for the Certification Program.

A special thank you to Rabbit Air, 3M, Hollander, Guardsman, Cleva, True Value and Bona for making this possible and donating their asthma & allergy friendly® CERTIFIED products to AAFA’s Healthier Homes Initiative.
