An intensive two day catch up in Dublin, Ireland for the Certification Program partners, the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America and Allergy Standards Ltd, included strategy and planning sessions to continue to grow and amplify the Certification Program.

The Airmid high tech labs

One of the highlights of the visit was a guided tour of Airmid Health Group (AHG), where Chief Technical Officer Angela Southey brought the visiting team on a walkthrough of the cutting-edge facilities. AHG is one of the designated labs for the Certification Program, so it was particularly insightful to see the high-tech specialised chambers and laboratories.

Airmid showcased individual chambers for testing various products (such as air cleaners and vacuum cleaners), bed bug testing chambers, allergen labs and microbiology labs.

The specialised chambers

This type of high-tech testing laboratory is crucial to the Asthma & Allergy Friendly® Certification Program, as products must be stringently tested against strict standards to achieve the certification. It is for this reason that, unlike products that claim to be “hypoallergenic” but have not been submitted for testing, Certified products can be trusted.

Both ASL and AAFA are completely committed to continuing to grow the Certification Program and spent much of the visit brainstorming and cementing their unified approach towards helping people make informed purchases for a healthier home.
