The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) declared May to be National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month. One part of last month’s awareness campaign not only helped raise awareness, but helped six families create healthier homes with CERTIFIED asthma & allergy friendly® products as well.

During May, AAFA asked its community members to share how they are more than asthma and allergies through pictures to show how they overcome asthma and allergy barriers and live full lives. Six inspiring photos were chosen.

Congratulations to the six winners!

Meet Rashaun! He is kind and hardworking. He enjoys aerial yoga and wants to be a fire inspector when he grows up (just like his grandpa). He is definitely more than his asthma. Photo credit: Erin-Leigh Gallop

Asthma didn’t stop me from dressing up and marching in the carnival parade in St. Vincent and the Grenadines! Served as a great study break from medical school. I will never let asthma hold me back from enjoying life. Photo credit: Kristyn

Looking at me would you know that I struggle with asthma every day? My name is Kamille Rivers and I suffer with asthma every day, and I am a plus size model that wants to help others. Photo credit: Kamille Rivers

We are 7 and 4 years old with food allergies, asthma, and eczema. We overcome our allergies by not letting it get us down. We play, we laugh, and we live our best lives even if we can’t have that piece of cake. Photo credit: BeatAllergy

Each winner received a prize package of asthma awareness items and these CERTIFIED products:
